Job Description
As per the consent obtained from the Public Service Commission, Nepal Telecommunications Company Limited is conducting permanent recruitment through open and inclusive competitive examinations for various vacant positions.
This recruitment is being carried out in accordance with the Nepal Telecommunications Company Limited Staff Regulations 2078 (Including Amendments).
Position Details

Minimum Required Qualifications
1. Level 9 – Deputy Manager (Telecom) And Level 8 – Senior Engineer (Telecom) Positions
Educational Qualification: Must have passed postgraduate level from a recognized educational institution in any one of the following subjects.
- Telecommunications and Communication.
- Radio.
- Electrical and Communications.
- Electrical and Electronics.
- Information Technology.
- Computer Software Engineering.
- Computer Hardware Engineering.
- Electronics engineering (any one subject among Communication, Electronics, Computer, Radio).
- Computer Science.
- Information Communication.
- Electrical Engineering.
- Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
- Mechanical Engineering.
- Any one similar subject.
Professional Registration: Must be registered with the Nepal Engineering Council as per prevailing law.
Work Experience: Must have at least five years of service experience in officer-level positions in any of the following:
- Civil Service/Government Service of the Government of Nepal.
- University Service.
- Teacher Service.
- Organized Institutions.
Special Provision for Doctoral Degree Holders: Candidates who have obtained a Doctoral level degree can be eligible even if their experience is reduced by two years (i.e., minimum three years of experience required instead of five years).
Note: The qualification is as prescribed for initial service entry into officer-level positions of the concerned service and group of this company.
2. Level 9 – Deputy Manager (Administration) And Level 8 – Senior Administrative Officer Positions
Educational Qualification: Must have passed postgraduate level in the subject prescribed for initial service entry into officer-level positions of the concerned service and group of this company from a recognized educational institution.
Work Experience: Must have at least five years of service experience in officer-level positions in any of the following:
- Civil Service/Government Service of the Government of Nepal.
- University Service.
- Teacher Service.
- Organized Institutions.
Special Provision for Doctoral Degree Holders: Candidates who have obtained a Doctoral level degree can be eligible even if their experience is reduced by two years (i.e. minimum three years of experience required instead of five years).
3. Level 8 – Senior Accounts Officer (C.A.) Position
Educational Qualification: Must have passed Chartered Accountancy or Certified Public Accountancy examination from a recognized institution (Institute).
Professional Registration: Must be registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal as per prevailing Nepali law.
4. Level 8 – Senior Accounts Officer Position
Educational Qualification: Must have passed postgraduate level in Management, Commerce or Business Administration from a recognized educational institution.
Work Experience: Must have at least five years of service experience in officer-level positions in any of the following:
- Civil Service/Government Service of the Government of Nepal.
- University Service.
- Teacher Service.
- Organized Institutions.

- Any one similar subject.

6. Level 7 – Telecom Engineer (Electrical) Position
Educational Qualification: Must have obtained a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized educational institution in any one of the following subjects.
- Electrical.
- Electronics and Electrical.
- Electrical and Communications.
- Electrical Engineering.
- Any one similar subject.
Professional Registration: Must be registered with the Nepal Engineering Council as per prevailing law.
7. Level 7 – Engineer (Civil) Position
Educational Qualification: Must have obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized educational institution.
Professional Registration: Must be registered with the Nepal Engineering Council as per prevailing law.
8. Level 6 – Assistant Accounts Officer Position
Educational Qualification: Must have passed Bachelor’s level or equivalent examination in Management, Commerce or Business Administration from a recognized educational institution.
9. Level 6 – Assistant Administrative Officer Position
Educational Qualification: Must have passed Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any subject from a recognized educational institution.
10. Level 5 – Overseer Position
Educational Qualification: Must have passed Certificate level or Diploma Engineering or equivalent examination in any of the following subjects from a recognized educational institution.
- Civil Engineering
- Architecture
- Survey Engineering
11. Level 4 – Assistant Position
Educational Qualification (Either Of The Following)
- Must have either, obtained at least GPA 2.0 in S.E.E. (Secondary Education Examination) from a recognized educational institution.
- Passed S.L.C. (School Leaving Certificate) or equivalent.
Additional Requirement: Must have passed the pre-qualification examination conducted by the Public Service Commission and obtained the certificate.
12. Level 4 – Telecom Technician Position
Basic Educational Qualification: Must have passed S.L.C. (School Leaving Certificate) or equivalent from a recognized educational institution.
Technical Training/Certification (Either Of The Following)
- Must have received training in Transmission, Outside, Power, Switching or Telecom Technician from the Telecommunication Training Center of Nepal Telecom Company Limited.
- Must have passed Level 2 skill test in Transmission, Outside, Power, Switching subjects from the National Skill Testing Center.
13. Level 3 – Junior Technician Position
Basic Educational Qualification: Must have passed 10th grade (Class Ten) from a recognized educational institution.
Technical Training/Certification (Either Of The Following)
- Must have received training in Transmission, Outside, Power, Switching or Junior Technician from the Telecommunication Training Center of Nepal Telecom Company Limited.
- Must have passed Level 1 skill test in Transmission, Outside, Power, Switching subjects from the National Skill Testing Center.
Age Limit
For Assistant Level Positions
- Minimum Age: Must have completed 18 years as of the last date of application submission.
- Maximum Age: Must not have exceeded 35 years as of the last date of application submission.
For Officer Level Positions From Level 6 To Level 7
Minimum Age: Must have completed 21 years as of the last date of application submission.
Maximum Age: Must not have exceeded 35 years as of the last date of application submission.
For Officer Level Positions Of Level 8 And Level 9
Minimum Age: Must have completed 21 years as of the last date of application submission.
Maximum Age: Must not have exceeded 40 years as of the last date of application submission.
Special Provision For Women And Persons With Disabilities
- For all positions, the upper age limit for female candidates and candidates with disabilities shall not exceed 40 years.
Age Calculation Method
- Age shall be calculated based on the last date of application submission (21 days period from the date of notice publication).
- The period for submitting applications by paying double fees shall not be counted/included in the calculation.
Exemption From Age Limit
- The age limit shall not apply to permanent employees currently serving in Nepal Telecom Company.
Type Of Examination
- Written Examination.
- Interview.
- Practical Examination: Additionally, a practical examination will be conducted for Level-4, Telecom Technician and Level-3, Junior Technician positions under the Technical Service category.

Written Examination Date, Time And Center
The date, time and examination center for the written examination of the above-mentioned advertisements shall be as determined/designated by the Public Service Commission.

Fee Structure For Inclusive Group Applications
- If applying only for inclusive group(s) without applying for the open category, the examination fee for the first group shall be equivalent to the open category fee.
- For additional inclusive groups, additional fees shall be charged as mentioned above.
Validity Of Certificates And Documents
- Cut-off Date: Educational qualifications, inclusive group certificates, council registration certificates, training, experience, and service period obtained after the last date of application submission (deadline for prescribed fee payment) shall not be valid/recognized.

Additional Documents To Be Prepared By Candidates When Applying For Inclusive Groups
Candidates wishing to apply for advertisements under inclusive groups must prepare and submit the following documents at the time of application. Applications may be canceled at any time if the mentioned documents are not available.
1. Indigenous/Ethnic Groups (Adivasi/Janajati)
- Castes listed in the National Foundation for Development of Indigenous Nationalities (NFDIN) Act: Documents shall be based on the list of that Act.
- Castes with multiple surnames listed in the NFDIN Act: Document certified by the Chief District Officer verifying the surname as belonging to the listed caste, based on the recommendation of the head of the concerned local level.
2. Dalits
Castes listed by the National Dalit Commission: Documents shall be based on that list.

3. Persons with Disabilities
Required Document: Identity card certified by the Social Welfare Council confirming disability, based on the recommendation of an approved/authorized doctor.
4. Madhesi
Preferred Document: Document certified as Madhesi by an institution as designated by the Government of Nepal through notification published in the Nepal Gazette.
Until institution is designated through Nepal Gazette notification: Document certified as Madhesi by the Chief District Officer based on the recommendation of the head of the concerned local level.
5. Backward/Underdeveloped Areas
Required Documents
- Citizenship Certificate obtained from the concerned district mentioning permanent residence in any of the following districts: Bajhang, Bajura, Achham, Humla, Mugu, Jumla, Kalikot, Dolpa, and Jajarkot.
- Permanent Residence Verification Certificate certified by the concerned Rural Municipality or Municipality confirming current permanent residence in the same location, issued within 3 months prior to the last date of application form registration.
Offices Where Work Must be Performed
1. Level 3 and 4
- Mandatory Posting: Must compulsorily work in offices of Category A, B and C geographical areas as per Schedule 8 of the Nepal Telecom Company Limited Employee Regulations 2078.
- Duration: For the period specified in the Employee Regulations.
2. Level 5 (Civil)
- Mandatory Posting: Must compulsorily work in Directorates and Offices outside Kathmandu Valley.
- Duration: For the period specified in the Employee Regulations.
3. All Officer Level Positions – Except O.Le.A. (Chartered Accountant Officer)
- Mandatory Posting: Must compulsorily work in Directorates and Offices outside Kathmandu Valley.
